Heatwave
I just realized that it's been a month and I haven't had anything to blog about. I'm completely uninspired. I blame this on the fact that my brain is quite literally fried - fried like one of the many eggs that have been cooked on the sidewalks of DC lately by bored weathermen. We've been suffering through an interminable heatwave during the month of July; the heat index reached as high as 115. The air quality is at "code red." All we need is the faint smell of sulfer and we might mistake DC for Hell. Maybe that's the point the weathermen are making with all those smelly sidewalk eggs? In any case, Evan and I have had to stay indoors for most of the day for this reason, but today we adventured outside (hey, it was a cool 93!) and found the playground at Fairlington. This playground had some great ride-on toys, and I'm sure we'll enjoy them all a little more when the sweat isn't stinging our eyes.
I'm daydreaming about moving back to Alaska. Weather.com informs me that it is 66 degrees in Anchorage right now. Ahhh....
